Hopper in the Offenbach county

In cooperation with the Kreisverkehrsgesellschaft Offenbach mbH (kvgOF)

Project description

Since the beginning of 2021, CleverShuttle has managed the operation of the "Hopper" service of the Kreisverkehrsgesellschaft Offenbach (kvgOF) for Offenbach county. Thanks to short waiting times and high customer satisfaction, the Hopper service has successfully supplemented public transport. Hopper’s success demonstrates how on-demand transport can be intelligently linked with existing public transport services. As part of the 2021 vaccination campaign, the Hopper service operated as a vaccination bus outside its regular operating area. At the start of the project, Hopper's area of operation included the towns of Seligenstadt, Hainburg and Mainhausen as well as Hanau main station. After a successful 1 ½ years, kvgOF has expanded the existing on-demand service with CleverShuttle to another six municipalities in the Offenbach district: Heusenstamm, Obertshausen, Mühlheim, Langen, Egelsbach and Rödermark.

Special feature: Decentralized development of charging infrastructure

In addition to the office and dispatching infrastructure, CleverShuttle has also set up the necessary charging stations at its central operating headquarters in Obertshausen. In order to avoid rides without customers due to trips to the charging stations, the self-sufficient service areas are also equipped with charging points. A total of 18 charging stations, each with two charging points, are distributed throughout the individual areas for efficient operation of the e-shuttles. Learn more.
